Coca-Cola, more Albanian than you think

A study by the University of Management – SDA Bocconi, Italy, yielded impressive figures on the impact of Coca-Cola in our country. Communication for this milestone – the visual concept and its implementation in a campaign integrated in television, points of sale and PR – was developed by McCann Tirana.

Inspired by the Coca-Cola iconic contour bottle, the agency recreated its human version as a representation of the most Albanian Coca-Cola ever. The campaign visual featured the stylized portrait of a woman dressed in a tailor made Albanian traditional costume.

Each of the costume elements was inspired by traditional patterns from different parts of the country. Starting from the head to the whole body, the costume elements represent accordingly the North, Central and Southern Albania. Combined in a single costume, these elements and curated details unite all these areas into one unique artwork.

The iconic contour bottle, the red and black colors of Coca-Cola and the Albanian flag, were combined with secondary vivid colors and lively patterns giving a fresh and modern look through the full print report design, social media content and point of sale materials.

The campaign TVC featured the Coca-Cola journey in Albania, with the same taste and smiles given from real human efforts behind. From a memory of the nineties’ where the bottle held a special place in many Albanian house interiors, until today as an everyday part of their lives.

The publishing of the report was communicated through a PR campaign, with articles on the online media, TV appearances and also a documentary dedicated to the history of Coca-Cola in Albania.
