12 years of history-making from DLDP
The Decentralization and Local Development Programme from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) concluded its 12-year journey in supporting the local government and communities in Albania.
The history of this program includes meaningful achievements in local and national level, by directly impacting the lives of citizens and by delivering a series of important institutional reforms.
DLDP’s area of operation covered mainly municipalities in the northern part of Albania, from 2016, in Shkodër, Lezhë, Kukës, Dibër and Durrës, accounting for 30% of the country’s population.
To better convey the results and some remaining challenges, DLDP cooperated with McCann Tirana since summer 2018 till February 2019.
During this time, the respective teams worked closely to deliver seven video productions, which include some of the main areas and themes where DLDP provided first-hand contribution.
The Agency also organised the program’s closing event, with the participation of the Swiss Embassy representatives, municipality mayors and staff, heads of central institutions and development experts.
Another Swiss program will follow through for a next local development phase in the country, namely Strong Municipalities.
